Cy-Fair Helping Hands is an organization dedicated to assisting the homeless transition
from living on the streets to becoming self-sufficient.
URGENT NEED!
Dear Friends,
One of our clients, Daniel, is terminally ill and is in urgent need of
your help. Daniel has stomach and liver cancer and the doctors
say he has three to six months to live. Many of you who travel
Hwy 290 will know Daniel as the tall, slim, soft spoken, red-haired
fellow who has been seen working the corner of Fairbanks North
Houston and Highway 290.
For the past eight years Daniel and his closest friends, have made
the woods along Highway 290 their home. Daniel had every
expectation of spending his last days in those woods with his
friends and extended family. Last Friday the owner of the property
asked everyone in camp to remove their property and leave the
premises.
With the help of many volunteers from Houston First Church of
God's H.O.P.E. ministry, we were able to pack up camp, put most
of the items in storage and relocate the camp residents. Because
of Daniel's critical condition, we chose to place Daniel and the
young couple who are his care givers into a hotel room.
Daniel wants to be with his friends during the last days of his life
and does not want to die in a hospital. In order to help fulfill
Daniels wishes, we need to raise funds to pay for the hotel room
and other necessities for Daniel.
